First married couples are entitled to claim the discount which reduces the combined tax base if they got married after December 31, 2014 and this is the first marriage for at least one of them.

The tax base discount that can be claimed jointly by spouses is EUR 83 (HUF 33,335) per qualifying month. This means that the spouses do not have to pay personal income tax on a total of EUR 83 (HUF 33,335) per month from their gross income (before tax, including individual tax burdens), i.e. the amount of the discount is EUR 13 (HUF 5,000) per month.
